Sigur Ros have unveiled details of their fifth album, set to be released June 24 in North America.
�??Me_ su_ í eyrum vi_ spilum endalaust�?? was recorded at Sear Sound Studios in New York, Assault and Battery Studios and Abbey Road Studios in London and in the band�??s native Iceland at their studio Álafoss, as well as church.
Co-produced with the with the band by Flood, it�??s the first record they�??ve ventured outside their homeland to record and is their first album to feature vocalist Jón �??Jónsi�?? Thor Birgisson�??s vocals in English.
Translated as �??with a buzz in our ears we play endlessly�??, the record will be available for download during a pre-sale via the band�??s website on June 2, and later in the year a special deluxe edition of the album will be released and will feature a �??Making Of�?��?? book, a film and more. The deluxe version will also be available for pre-order on June 2.
The album was completed just weeks ago and features the London Sinfonietta and London Oratory Boy�??s Choir, their string-quartet friends Amiina, as well as a five-piece brass section on certain tracks.
